Description:
OEMs of off-highway equipment, such as those within the construction, mining, and agricultural sectors, are faced with regulatory pressures to reduce CO2 emissions and limit their manufacturing of diesel-powered vehicles. These OEMs are looking to leverage lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery technology in their electrification strategies.

Delta-Q and Inventus Power have first-hand experience helping OEMs transition to Li-ion battery-powered systems in industrial motive applications and have gained an understanding of market needs and requirements in off-highway applications.  Our two companies will present best practices in battery/charger integration when designing battery electric power systems for industrial equipment; reviewing various considerations regarding configurations, chemistries, safety/certifications, regulatory compliance, and more. Lessons learned from vehicle electrification in adjacent markets will be shared along with an outlook on future developments in Li-ion battery/charging design.

Key Takeaways

  1. Learn about the regulatory pressures driving OEMs in construction, mining, and agriculture to reduce CO2 emissions and limit diesel-powered vehicle production.
  2. Understand how OEMs are leveraging lithium-ion battery technology to meet regulatory demands in their electrification strategies.
  3. Discover best practices for integrating batteries and chargers in industrial equipment, including configurations, chemistries, safety, certifications, and regulatory compliance
  4. Gain insights from adjacent markets and learn about future developments in Li-ion battery and charging design.
